High Street Theater Foundation seeks directors
The new season for The Theater on High Street in Moorpark will be September through August 2007. The foundation is soliciting proposals from local community theater directors before establishing the next season.
Any director interested in presenting a proposal should call Ralph Mauriello, foundation president, at (805) 5297580, regarding the data required for the proposal.
The High Street Theater Foundation is a nonprofit corporation formed in January 2005.
The foundation has produced a number of events including three melodramas ("Sleeping Beauty," "Xorro" and "The Ice King"), two Broadway musicals ("Man of La Mancha" and "Company"), a musical review "Vaudeville Returns to Moorpark"), a play ("Love Letters"), a youth musical ("Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory"), and youth workshops.
The organization has also sponsored a radio broadcast ("Buddy Shell, Metaphysical Private Eye"), The Best of the Ojai Film Festival, Historic Haunts of High Street, a Buster Keaton Silent Film for Member Appreciation Day and a youth musical ("Pirates of Penzance").
Total attendance for all events was about 8,000 people.
