Mavericks Sports and Cinema Center made the cast of the spring High Street Theater melodrama "Aladdin-All You Need Is Love" an offer they could not refuse. The yoga room was turned into a rehearsal space for the Fried-Out Features Production, and director/ writer Terry Miles is as pleased as he can be.

"How a private sports and workout center could offer our community theater group this space in the name of community outreach was an incredible blessing," said Miles. "The management at Mavericks really has their hearts in the right place."

"Community theater is always done on a tight budget. Mavericks management told us they were happy to let us use the yoga room," he said.

Besides coordinating with local high schools for swimming and water polo in the new Olympic-size pool, Mavericks Sports and Cinema Center is the site of a three-screen movieplex that offers mostly family movies for Moorpark and surrounding communities.

The melodrama "Aladdin-All You Need is Love" opens at 8 p.m., Fri., April 21 at the theater at 45 E. High St. For more information, call (805) 807-2298.
