Coalition to End Family Violence welcomes new staff members

Cherie Duval, president and CEP of The Coalition to End Family Violence, has announced the appointment of four new employees in victims’ services and development. The Oxnardbased coalition is Ventura County’s lead nonprofit agency providing crisis response and advocacy to victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Susan Sabol, Psy.D., has been appointed the new senior clinical director and will manage counseling operations. Sabol comes from Psychological Care Associates in Arlington, Mass., where she served as a clinical psychologist. Prior to that, she was the chief psychologist for the Federal Correctional Institution in Dublin, Calif.

Beth Farnbach will lead the new development department as senior vice president of development. She’ll explore and develop major funding sources for the coalition. Farnbach has 25 years of experience working in nonprofit start-up and development, education and law. She’s worked for both the U.S. Departments of State and Education and for the U.S. Agency for International Development.

Jill Dolan joins Farnbach’s staff as special events coordinator and will coordinate the major annual fundraising events. Dolan’s event-planning credits include the ArtWalks for the city of Ventura and the Yesteryear Festival for the Ventura County Museum of History and Art.

Katherine (KK) Medrano is the new training and volunteer facilitator. She most recently worked with Child Protective Services as an emergency response investigator. Madrano has trained professionals and volunteers to assist victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, starting in 1990 as a trainer with ChildHelp USA, and subsequently trained rape crises advocates for the Santa Clarita Valley Trauma Center.

“I am excited that The Coalition to End Family Violence continues to attract the most qualified and committed individuals to assist victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse,” said Duval.
